About the Course: The MBA course is approved by AICTE, Govt. of India and is run under the curriculum of Visvesvaraya Technological University, The course is carefully designed and updated by the university keeping in view the changing needs of manufacturing and service industry. Upon successful completion of the course, the degree is awarded by Visvesvaraya Technological University.
Young managers are required at different levels in the areas of Finance, Human Resources, Marketing, Information Technology and so on. The curriculum puts significant emphasis on the ability of the student to have an integrated view of the management and apply them to the real life situations. It lays emphasis on taking decisions and developing focussed education combined with practical exposure to create value to the students coming out of academics. It aims at developing students into effective managers with good communication skills and leadership capabilities. The attributes that are ingrained in them are knowledge, skills, values and attitudes.
Duration : 2 years consisting of 4 semesters.
Eligibility : Candidates who have passed Bachelor Degree examination of Bengaluru University with not less than 50% of marks in aggregate in all the three years of Degree examination or any other University equivalent thereto with 50% marks. However in case of candidates from Karnataka belonging to SC/ST & Cat-I the aggregate percentage of marks in the qualifying examination shall not be less than 45% of marks.
At the time of admission students have to produce the ranks obtained in any one of the National Level Test/State Level Test / PGCET/ K-MAT score Certificate.

Teaching Hours: There will be 183 credit hours in total for all the semesters together. Each credit will be of 10 hours duration [i.e. 1830 Hrs.] for the course. Each semester will be of about 12 weeks duration.

Attendance: 85% attendance is compulsory in each semester for appearing for Visvesvaraya Technological University Examinations.
Academic Activities : Highly qualified and experienced faculties handle various subjects. There will be a number of guest lectures on different topics and contemporary issues, seminars, presentations, group discussions, panel discussions, workshops, industry-institute interaction, industrial visits apart from regular classes which helps in improving the overall personality of the student and make him/her face the challenges of the industry confidently.
Internal Assessment: Maximum 50 marks in each subject. Minimum marks in each are 25.
Examination: Twice in a year in January and June. Examination will be conducted twice in a year for repeaters. Each theory paper carries 100 marks in all semesters.
Scheme of valuation: As per Bengaluru University regulations.
Promotion to next year: There are 14 subjects in I and II semesters. A student is required to pass at least 11 out of 14 subjects to qualify for III semester as per norms.

Outcome of the Course: After completing the MBA course, students will be able to use their management skills and practice in the following areas.

Employment Opportunities: The opportunities available to the young budding Managers after the completion of MBA are plenty. They can:

- Serve as Executives in service sectors viz., Banks, Hospitals, Hotels, Financial Institutions, Airlines etc.
